Lena Chretien - Level 2 Playtri Coach

About Lena

Lena stumbled into triathlon in her early 30s, when a friend convinced her to sign up for a 70.3 Ironman. Without knowing exactly what that entailed, she said yes—and got hooked. With no prior background in any of the three sports, she learned how to swim freestyle, bought her first road bike, and followed her first structured training plan.

Since then, through dedication and with the help of some amazing coaches, she has transformed herself into a front-mid pack swimmer, front-pack cyclist, and decent runner, achieving two Kona qualifications, five 70.3 World Championship qualifications, multiple Ironman AG podiums, and a 2nd Overall finish at Ironman Waco. While she still competes, her focus now is on staying fit, healthy, and happy through the challenges of endurance training and racing, often incorporating adventure races, trail runs, and the occasional ultra-marathons into her routine.

Working in a high demand environment of a Tech StartUp, Lena has an unique perspective on balancing work, life, and training to help her athletes excel. Having been in her athletes’ shoes - whether they‘re new to triathlon or chasing competitive goals - Lena uses her own experience in endurance sports combined with a scientific approach to guiding her athletes every step of the way, no matter where the athletes are in their triathlon journey.

She believes triathlon teaches life lessons like resilience, patience, and staying present in the moment. Combining the science of training with a love for adventure, Lena helps athletes push beyond their limits and discover strengths they never knew they had. Whether you’re starting out or seeking new heights, Lena will guide you to whatever triathlon goal you might have.
