McKinney/Allen Youth & Junior Programs
Do you have a child race age 6-18 in the McKinney/Frisco/Plano/Allen area who wants to try triathlon, or who has experienced the sport first-hand and wants a more structured training and competition approach? We are a USA Triathlon registered club program, and we also offer Team Playtri Elite - the top-ranked USA Triathlon High Performance Development Team in Texas in 2021 and 2022 - as part of our available programs.

Swim tryouts for NEW ATHLETES and benchmark test for returning COMP B swimmers: Monday, April 29, 6-7pm at Don Rodenbaugh
Swim benchmark test for returning COMP A swimmers: Wednesday, May 1, 6-7pm at Don Rodenbaugh
Bike/run tryouts for all NEW ATHLETES and benchmark mile run for all returning athletes: Tuesday, April 30, 6-7pm at Scoggins
Swim Tryout Information:
Don Rodenbaugh Aquatic Center (110 Rivercrest Blvd, Allen, TX 75002)
Returning Comp A&B athletes will complete a 100yd free time trial during their normal practice time on Monday or Wednesday of tryouts week.
COMP B: Demonstrate the ability to swim 25y without stopping (any stroke)
COMP A: Swim a timed 100y freestyle
Bike/Run Tryout Information:
Scoggins Middle School (7070 Stacy Road, McKinney, TX 75070)
COMP B: Run a timed mile, demonstrate ability to bike without training wheels
COMP A: Run a timed mile, demonstrate various bike handling skills

Team Membership:
Race Ages 6-14
$165 per month, 3 practices per week (other options available for fewer practices per week)
Description: Beginner to intermediate level team for late elementary to early high school age athletes focused on fun and skills. Athletes will continue to develop and refine the skills and strategy necessary for local youth triathlon competition.

Race Ages 10-16
$200 per month, 4 practices per week (other options available for fewer practices per week)
Description: Advanced level team for late elementary to early high school age athletes focused on developing and refining the skills and fitness necessary to be locally competitive in youth triathlon, while building a foundation for future high performance.

Team Playtri is committed to giving your athlete a safe and fun experience in the sport of triathlon, with a strong focus on developing character and self-sufficiency, that will prepare them for whatever level of competition they should choose to pursue.
Almost a decade of coaching successful youth triathletes right here in McKinney, TX has prepared us to provide thoughtful, age-appropriate curriculum and instruction to all of our Lions regardless of their age and ability level upon entering our programs.
Our curriculum strives to adhere to the American Development Model for the long-term health and performance of our athletes.
REFUNDS & TRANSFERS
There are no refunds or transfers for coaching program fees.
